3.3.33. Using a Remote Configuration

If you want to use a ChronoScan configuration located somewhere other than the local machine those are the steps:

Create the launcher configuration directory on your local %programdata% directory, ex: c:\ProgramData\ChronoScan.My Other Configuration Name
Create a "config.redirect.xml" file with this content:

<chrono_custom_launch>

<program_data_dir>\\W2012REMOTEPC\c$\ProgramData\ChronoScan</program_data_dir>

</chrono_custom_launch>

The program_data_dir node allows you to overwrite the default appdata directory in the application.

NOTE#1: Make sure any security and user access settings are set properly otherwise the remote machine won't be able to access any of the needed files on the source machine.

NOTE#2: This can also be used to connect to a remote ENTERPRISE installation.

NOTE#3: Using a remote configuration with the default configuration on the remote machine will not work.
