3.3.34. ChronoScan and ODBC Database Connections

When ODBC is needed to create a database connection with ChronoScan there are a few details that must be taken into account.
ChronoScan does not support connections created through the 64 bit ODBC Data Source Administration panel.
The 32 bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administration program should be used.
If you can't find it, the default path to the executable is C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\odbcad32.exe on 64 bit operating systems.

32 bit versions of the drivers should also be used. For access databases, the following can be used:
Access 2010 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
Access 2007 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23734

Please note that if the 64 bit version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine is already installed (usually installed with the Microsoft Office package), you will not be able to install the 32 bit version. This is a limitation as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2269468
In this scenario, the 2007 Microsoft Access Database Engine can be installed. The 2007 engine can read both 2007 and 2010 Access databases for OLE DB purposes. For more information on 2007/2010 ACCDB compatibility, review the Microsoft Developer Network article here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/cc907897.aspx
