3.3.14.5. Adding Documents to M-FILES Objects Linked to an External Database
This article shows how to configure ChronoScan to export documents to M-FILES objects linked to an external database.
When an external table is linked, the M-FILES DisplayId is not equal to the real ID. This creates some confusion because we expect that the showed ID is the real ID. Instead, we should find the real object ID in order to upload documents to externally linked objects.

We are going to use the Document Title as the DisplayId to add current documents to existing records:
IMPORTANT:
Select the correct class and object type corresponding to your external object:
Select Document Title as "Add to existing ID" value. This will add documents to existing objects.
Set "M-FILES object is in a linked database" to true.
