3.4.3. Document Type

 
Document Type refers to a “kind of document”. The kind of document is determined by physical similarities found in those documents.
This is done manually, by computer vision algorithms, or OCR triggers.
ChronoScan will save data about each new kind of document processed on it and every time a new document is imported and processed they will be compared to all other existing document types.
When no match is found a new type with the default name (TYPE XXX) will be created.
If you want to automatically recognize types be sure to always have one "Document type" field and to enable document type detection.
The document type recognition engine will start to become noticeably slower and less accurate at around 500 document types. To work around thoes limitations, the Masterkey configuration was created.
